New to The Spoke? Here is everything you need to know before you clip in for your first ride.
How do I get started?
The easiest way to start is by creating your Spoke account and taking advantage of our pre-sale 5-class pack for $50, available to new riders before we open.
Once we announce our Opening day, you will be able to sign up for classes in your account!
Do I need to sign anything before my first ride?
Yes. You will sign a quick liability waiver in your account when you book, so there is nothing to fill out at the door. Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first class so we can give you a tour, get you into shoes, and dial in your bike. Riders under 18 need a waiver signed in person by a parent or guardian.
I am brand new to indoor cycling. Which class should I pick?
Just book any ride on the schedule. Our signature class runs about 45 minutes and is built for every level. You control your own resistance and pace the whole time, so you can take it as easy or as hard as you like. Our coaches will help you find the right effort for wherever you are in your fitness journey.
Do I need my own cycling shoes?
Our bikes work with both SPD and Delta clips, so if you have your own pair you are welcome to bring them. Prefer not to clip in at all? Regular athletic sneakers work just fine too.
Can I pick my own bike and ride next to a friend?
No need to choose a bike when booking. Grab any available bike when you arrive in class. Riding with a friend? Come a bit early to make sure you have 2 available bikes next to each other! If you need a hand, our staff is happy to help get you set up.
What should I bring, and what should I wear?
Recommend bringing a water bottle and a workout towel. If you forget, we have them for purchase at the front desk!
Showers are coming to the studio later in 2026. Wear comfortable, athletic clothing, and feel free to use our cubbies for storage.
Are there any late or cancellation fees?
To free up your bike for someone else, please cancel at least 12 hours before your class start time. No penalties for cancelling a class, we'll just miss you!
Where is the studio, and where do I park?
You will find us at 36 Main Street, East Hartford, CT 06118, right on the Glastonbury and East Hartford line. There is free parking on site, so you can pull right up and head in.
Is there a minimum age to ride?
Riders must be at least 14 years old. Anyone under 18 needs a waiver signed in person by a parent or guardian before their first ride.
